Process

My approach begins with a collaborative consultation to understand your vision in depth, including the setting, medium, style, and details that will bring your dream artwork to life.

On the day itself, I’ll arrive 1 to 3 hours beforehand, allowing me time to set up and begin painting the background once your beautiful decorations are in place. I’ll also capture photographs and videosof key moments between you and your partner, using these references to infuse the painting with the genuine emotion and ambiance of the day. My focus will always be on portraying the couple or an individual in the setting you’ve envisioned.

I also enjoy engaging with your guests throughout the day by offering a limited number of live guest portraits, adding a fun and personal touch to your celebration. Live guest portraits are only available with studio finish packages*, up to 45 guests can be sketched live. You can choose to cover the portraits at £10 per guest or allow your guests to purchase their own portraits at no additional cost to you. If you’d like more guest portraits, I can create additional sketches based on photographs either two weeks before or after the wedding.

Want to have more than 45 guests sketched live? My dedicated Guest Portrait service allows me to sketch up to 90 guests live during your wedding, with an A5 couple portrait included. ↓

I’ll be available for the whole day on your wedding day to create a memorable piece that reflects your love and joy. Depending on your chosen package, you can take your finished painting home on the day or I'll take the artwork back to my studio to complete any final touches. Throughout this process, I’ll send you progress photos and happily incorporate any adjustments you request. Additionally, I offer a time-lapse video of the painting process, edited to a song of your choice, as a keepsake that captures the creation of your wedding day artwork.

Once it’s ready and varnished, I’ll reach out to discuss collection or delivery options with you. Additional guest sketches will also be completed and post to you with your painting or to your guests seperately if requested.

Additional Costs

- Travel Expenses: I'm based in Cardiff and love travelling to weddings across the UK and overseas. Travel is charged at 40p per mile, calculated from Cardiff to the wedding venue and back. For weddings further afield or destination weddings overseas, any additional travel costs will be discussed and agreed with you in advance, so everything is clear before you book.
- Food and Drink: A modest fee of £30 to £40 may be required to cover refreshments if complimentary food is not provide.
- Overnight Accommodation: £40 to £150 per night depending on location, if required.

Policies

Shipping Policy

If the portrait is completed during the ceremony, the happy couple can take it home that evening. For pieces requiring additional work, you can choose to pick it up in person, or I can arrange secure, insured postage to your preferred address. In the event of any damage during delivery, please provide photographic evidence for insurance purposes

Refund Policy

Cancellation by the Client

If you cancel the booking more than 90 days before the wedding date, the deposit (£300) paid to secure the booking will be refunded.

If you cancel 90 days or less before the wedding date, the deposit is non-refundable. Any remaining balance already paid will be refunded, less any non-refundable transport or accommodation costs already incurred in connection with the booking.

Rescheduling by You

If you need to reschedule your wedding, I will do my best to accommodate the new date, subject to availability. If I am available on the new date, the booking will be transferred to the new date and all payments already made, including the deposit, will be credited towards the rescheduled booking.

If I am unavailable on the new date, the deposit may be credited towards a future commissioned painting. Any remaining balance already paid will be refunded, less any non-refundable transport or accommodation costs already incurred. If you choose not to proceed with a future commissioned painting, the deposit will be refunded if the rescheduling request was made more than 90 days before the original wedding date. If the request is made 90 days or less before the original wedding date, the deposit remains non-refundable.

Cancellation by the Artist

In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend your event, I will let you know as soon as possible and will do my best to find a suitable replacement artist for your date. All payments made by the client, including the deposit and remaining balance, will be refunded in full.

If the painting doesn’t meet your expectations, I’m happy to make reasonable adjustments to ensure you’re satisfied with the final piece.
