One of the final (and most exciting!) steps after your wedding painting is complete is getting it safely into your hands. Because each painting is a one-of-a-kind artwork filled with memories, I take delivery and packaging very seriously. Below is a little guide to the options I offer, and why I do things the way I do.
Hand Delivery – My Preferred Option
Whenever possible, I love to hand deliver wedding paintings, especially if you live within 40 miles of Cardiff. This includes areas such as Bristol, Bath, Bridgend, Swansea, Newport, Chepstow, Merthyr Tydfil, and nearby towns.
Why do I prefer hand delivery?
• The reactions
One of my favourite parts of being a wedding painter is seeing couples’ reactions when they view their painting in real life for the first time. Photos never quite capture the texture, scale, and details of the artwork.
• Peace of mind
Hand delivery means no worries about courier delays, parcels being mishandled, or accidental damage. Your painting stays safely with me until it’s in your home.
• Less packaging stress
While I’m very confident in my courier packaging, hand delivery removes the need for heavy protective packaging altogether.
For hand delivery within 40 miles of Cardiff, I charge a small transport fee (always less than £25), depending on distance. I’ll confirm this clearly with you in advance.
Courier Delivery – Secure & Fully Insured
For couples who live further away, I offer courier delivery via Royal Mail, with additional insurance purchased for extra peace of mind.

How I Package Your Painting
Every artwork is carefully packed by hand using multiple protective layers:
• Custom-cut box
I make my own boxes using BC flute corrugated cardboard sheets, which are strong, durable, and designed to absorb impact during transit.
• Glassine paper wrap
The painting is first wrapped in glassine paper, an acid-free, non-stick paper that protects the painted surface. It prevents scuffing and sticking while allowing the artwork to breathe.
• Bubble wrap layer
This provides cushioning and shock protection.
• Handmade cardboard corner protectors
Corners are the most vulnerable part of any artwork, so I create custom cardboard corner protectors for extra security.
• Final cardboard layer
An additional layer of cardboard helps prevent bending and adds overall rigidity to the package.
This layered approach ensures your painting is well protected throughout its journey.
Choosing What’s Right for You
Both delivery options are safe and reliable. The choice really depends on location and personal preference. If you’re local, I’d love to deliver your painting in person and share that special moment with you. If not, rest assured that your artwork will be professionally packaged, insured, and handled with care.
